Currently based in Barcelona, Azad Jamagocyan is a creative technologist and builder of worlds across moving image, light, sound, sculpture, painting, and immersive simulations.

His practice explores tensions between hot and cold, humans and machines, seduction and time, promise and illusion. His main research topics include AI, water, energy, infrastructures, and surveillance bringing these topics afloat through data.

He uses repetition, rituals and loops of sensations as tools of resistance against algorithms. Inspired mostly by nature, he creates experiences where participation reconnects the viewer with time.

As the founder of ÇREN and NOTMADEWITHAI, he brings together artists committed to using technology consciously. Both organizations work between design, art, research, and culture to raise awareness about the world we live in and imagine how they might be reprogrammed.
